However, this stuff is still made of glass, and any uncareful treatment breaks it to pieces. As it is now, the DEVFS panics when mounting an msdos floppy, so I'd say let's wait with it a while. Once it's relatively stable, it will be a big win - big savings on number of required inodes, no need to manually create the right set of device nodes etc... And DEVFS is purely 3.0-current thing - I doubt it will ever be ported to 2.2.x line... I'm afraid that's bad news for you, Dinesh :-( but it would require massive changes in kernel...
