Hi

I would like to know if the Conner CTMS 3200 is a supported SCSI tape drive?
Is anyone out there using one? This tape drive uses QIC-3080 tape cartridge.

Here is my kernel and hardware info. The kernel is current as of the last
SNAP release.

/kernel: FreeBSD 2.1.0-Development #1: Tue Apr 4 23:24:53 1995
/kernel: root@vulture.sys.swt.edu:/usr/src/sys/compile/VULTURE
/kernel: CPU: Pentium (Pentium-class CPU) 60 MHz Origin = "GenuineIntel" Id = 0x513
/kernel: This is a Pentium 510\60 or 567\66 Stepping=3 Features=0x1bf FPU VME PSE MCE CX8
/kernel: real memory = 16384000 (4000 pages)
/kernel: avail memory = 14958592 (3652 pages)

Dump doesn't have a problem writing to the tape but restore is unable to
read the tape. (see below)

vulture# dump 0f /dev/rst0 /
DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Thu Apr 6 16:01:46 1995
DUMP: Date of last level 0 dump: the epoch

  DUMP: dumping (Pass III) [directories]
DUMP: dumping (Pass IV) [regular files]
DUMP: DUMP: 13003 tape blocks on 1 volumes(s)
  DUMP: Closing /dev/rst0
  DUMP: DUMP IS DONE
vulture# restore if /dev/rst0
tape read error: Input/output error
vulture#

This is what is written to /var/log/messages:

/kernel: st0(aha0:3:0): NO SENSE info:5800

Here's what happens when I use tar to write to the tape.

vulture# tar zcf /dev/rst0 /
tar (child): can't write to /dev/rst0 : Input/output error
Broken pipe
vulture#

This is what is written to /var/log/messages:

/kernel: st0(aha0:3:0): MEDIUM ERROR info:27000 asc:50,0Write append error
/kernel: st0(aha0:3:0): MEDIUM ERROR asc:50,0Write append error

Any ideas or suggestions? (within reason :) )

Thanks,
Tom
