You know, I really don't want people clogging my mailbox with images and other assorted crap. HTTP and FTP make it really easy for someone to put something where I can get to it, and mail me a pointer. Mail is 7 bit ASCII. I can see good reason to move to one of the 8 bit standards for support of foreign language character sets, but I really don't care to read anything that comes as html, a word document, or some other screwed up format.
