For me connecting to the external bus would have generated a "T" anyway. I would like to ask something regarding this 50pin -> 25 pin thing. Right now I'm using the ncr810 card with *either* the external Tape drive *or* the scanner. I wanted to plug the scanner in to the external tape case. From what you (Doug) wrote above this will not work. The cables would be quite some expense, so if there is no or only a small chance of getting this up and running I'll spare me that money and trouble and will just stick to plugging in whatever I need. The tape in question is an old Exabyte 8500 that connect with 4MB/s sync, 50 pin 'narrow' bus, actual tranfers are 30MB/min. Thanks for advice, K.-H. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ E-Mail: Karl-Heinz Herrmann <k.-h.herrmann@fz-juelich.de> http://www.fz-juelich.de/icg/icg7/FestFluGre/transport/khh/general.html Sent: 05-Mar-01, 11:25:30 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe aic7xxx" in the body of the message
