Since I've not seen this officially reported elsewhere, I thought I'd just drop a note about it. For a couple of days, portsnap has not been giving new snapshots: # portsnap fetch update Looking up portsnap.FreeBSD.org mirrors... 4 mirrors found. Fetching snapshot tag from portsnap2.FreeBSD.org... done. Latest snapshot on server matches what we already have. No updates needed. Ports tree is already up to date. ...which is not true. My ports tree is not up to date.
