I've been using service sddm stop and later the onestart. The problem is that sddm PUTS me in a Cinnamon desktop, even though I selected Plasma. I CAN get a Plasma desktop by un-commenting the appropriate exec in my .xinitrc. -- Donald Knuth - I've proven it's correct, but I haven't actually tried it.
