Indeed, yes:

warning: total configured swap (1035254 pages) exceeds maximum 
recommended amount (921968 pages).
warning: increase kern.maxswzone or reduce amount of swap.

(I get a similar warning for the RPi2B which has 2GB of swap, but uses 
1.4G+ peak during a -j4 buildworld and always completes successfully.)

I'll reduce it to 2G and see what happens in 5 hours...
