This is an OpenPGP/MIME signed message (RFC 2440 and 3156) --------------enig050DA2C8D3AED72121FA8F62 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi, After a long time, I tried booting X on a machine with Radeon X1600.=20 With the "vesa" driver it works fine, though slow in the usual=20 operations (compositing, transparency). I upgraded the ati driver to the = latest (6.9) and, while it managed to start, it was extraordinary slow=20 (much slower than vesa) and had a funny bug in Xfce Terminal, where the=20 "black" color of characters in the terminal would become transparent,=20 showing pixels underneath the window. Is this normal (i.e. the driver still doesn't support the card) or am I=20 doing something wrong? The xorg.conf is plain and boring, without any=20 special tuning, the dri and radeon kernel modules are loaded. This is on = 8-CURRENT. --------------enig050DA2C8D3AED72121FA8F62 Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: OpenPGP digital signature Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.5 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFIi8LDldnAQVacBcgRAqmNAJ0VZ1vO7MB06whL9mrr4BRbX/u7YQCeMDfd 1ZJMvBsfWrq8LsZK634qBwY= =BoT1 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --------------enig050DA2C8D3AED72121FA8F62--
