I switched my Thinkpad T61p from FreeBSD 8.1 RC2 i386 to amd64 and experienced a failure of the wireless networking. The setup is as follows: /etc/rc.conf ----------------------- wlans_ath0="wlan0" ifconfig_wlan0="DHCP" On boot the "wlan0" interface was NOT created. If I manually ran "ifconfig wlan0 create wlandev ath0", then everything was OK. The exact same setup (rc.conf, loader.conf, wpa_suplicant.conf) works fine under FreeBSD 8.1 RC2 i386
