I've installed FreeBSD 4.9-RELEASE on a Dell 400SC with an ATA Travan tape drive, accessing it through /dev/ast0. On linear writing operations, it works great... but there appears to be some kind of timeout problem on rewind: # mt -f /dev/nast0 rewind mt: /dev/nast0: rewind: Input/output error From console: Nov 12 11:28:02 bs4 /kernel: ast0: REZERO command timeout - resetting Nov 12 11:28:02 bs4 /kernel: ata1: resetting devices .. done This error does not appear if the tape is already rewound. Any thoughts?
