There are reports, in Japanese, that linux driver was hacked up for
FreeBSD and NetBSD to acquire still images with Qcam Express, Qcam Pro
4000, and some others.

http://home.jp.freebsd.org/cgi-bin/namazu.cgi?query=Qcam&whence=0&max=20&result=normal&sort=score&idxname=bsd-usb

An "USB worked/didn't work" survey is running at freebsd-users-jp ML,
and is archived at (again, in Japanese):

http://people.freebsd.org/~maho/USB/camera.html

JFYI.
