The installation process wil let you partition your harddrive. It will destroy your win98 installation unless it resides in an allready separate partition or you are installing FreeBSD on a unused harddrive, both of which seems unlikely since you're asking. You could possible try to get hold of a program like PartitionMagic to resize (i.e. shrink) your Win98 partition first, before you install = FreeBSD. PartitionMagic will let you do that without destroying the partition. After you have done that, the installation process will show you that there is a part of you harddrive that's in use, and you could simply add more partitions for FreeBSD use after the one that Win98 uses. Another hint would be to ask these questions on the freebsd-newbies list.
