Here's what the OSS people have to say on problems with OSS on FreeBSD. Can anyone in the know clarify what the status is? I couldn't find anything in the freebsd-bugs archive, but maybe I don't know where to look. 4Front> This is a known problem.....we have found a major bug with 4Front> FreeBSD 3.0 and 2.2.7 for that matter and have notified the 4Front> kernel group....thus far we haven't heard anything. 4Front> 4Front> THe problem seems to be in a kernel function call 4Front> vm_page_alloc_contig() which allocates kernel memory and for 4Front> some reason it's not doing the right thing. OSS requires this 4Front> and every now and then we are given some bogus memory address 4Front> by the kernel and that's where it crashes. -- Cheers =8-} Mike Friede, Völkerverständigung und überhaupt blabla To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
