> well, like I said, for me 'scp file localhost:file0' is about 2.3x > faster on Solaris than FreeBSD. Sure, that's the first factor of two. There's one or two factors of two left to be found. Maybe it is the Sparc disadvantage for these sorts of calculations cited earlier. Must be heavy in integer math... Frank
