Christian, This is not a cheap DVD from discounters. It's DVD-R from TDK. And drive is from Pioneer. So I don't really understand why it would be such a problem. Also you mentioned that cheap DVDs work ok on Windows but not on FreeBSD. This also suggests that it's some ATAPI driver bug.
