You've been warned. ] 8 character tabs are style(9): Indentation is an 8 character tab. Second level indents are four spaces. They are the *STANDARD* format going back to at least 1976 when I first started playing on hardware that had hardware tabs, and likely they go back much further into the deep, dark past than that. Many systems and editors muddied the waters by allowing one to set one's tab width.... However, this is a contentious religious war much like the BS vs DEL war that breaks out from time to time.
