	FreeBSD STABLE.

>Description:

I'm using FreeBSD STABLE on a HP Kayak XU with an on-board AD1816
audio device. It works well, except about 30-50% of the times the
audio device is opened (i.e. xmms starts to play a song), something
goes very wrong. The volume gets extremely loud, and anything but
extremely low-volume sounds is distorted beyond recognition, mosly
producing pure noise. The same happened when I used CURRENT a few
months ago, and the problem has existed now for several months.
