No it's not.
I've been using my current window manager for 2 years on a variety of
different hardware and operating systems, and it has never crashed.
Granted, that doesn't imply that it never will, but it will be a new
experience if it happens in the future.

In fact, no window manager I've ever used has ever crashed, with the
notable exceptions of explorer.exe and progman.exe.
