This subject has been popping up a lot lately so I'll add my $.02. http://www.sophos.com/ Sophos supports FreeBSD natively and they have a development kit for the scanner engine allowing the scanner to be embedded in daemon like sophie: http://www.vanja.com/tools/sophie/ Sophie is very, very, fast!
