 Am I missing something? But why would you even want to do this?

 What is it you're really trying to do...

1) Play music cd's?
there's a program in the base system that will play cd's in a rather crude
text environment, but for the life of me I can't remember it's name!

2) Rip the tunes off the cd?
look for cd2mp3 in the ports collection
