Unless something has changed (eg more clients or clients doing
something different), this really sounds like a hardware problem.
Given that you are seeing odd problems with other infrastructure,
it may even be a problem of dirty power.  I'd go thru the box and
try re-seating everything.

Can you set up a serial console?  That might let you capture some
information as the system dies.
