Are you building with WITH_DEBUG=3DYES?

For me this results in a similar complaint when building
webkit-gtk2 (with base gcc, though):

/usr/bin/ld: ./.libs/libJavaScriptCore.a(libJavaScriptCore_la-JITStubs.o): =
relocation R_X86_64_PC32 against `cti_vm_throw' can not be used when making=
 a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
/usr/bin/ld: final link failed: Bad value
gmake[1]: *** [libwebkit-1.0.la] Error 1
gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/obj/usr/ports/www/webkit-gtk2/work/webkit=
-1.2.7'
