Two things. I've been sending in some PRs to clear out some old 404s and obsolete stuff on our website. It naturally occurred to me that we should do something a little bit better than the default Apache 404 At a minimum the banner from the home page can be put up with a short "email docs@FreeBSD.org and report this error" I've been running linkchecker on the website for a few days now, we've been able to whittle down the 404s a bit. (Thanks Isabell! gjb and others) http://www.db.net/~db/log_404_uniq_20120609.txt Secondly Robert Watson has suggested we should be using http://www.freebsdfoundation.org/testimonials.shtml and presenting a different one each time. This could be easily done using a simple safe shell script cgi. We could get deb@ to give us a nice longer full page testimonial to feature.
