I'm not a nfs guru, I use it with out a problem.

But I belive that means that nfs is not running.. (Not sure though)

Do they show up under 'ps auxw'
Look for: mountd, nfsd-??????? (nfsd), nfsiod.

% ps auxw | grep mountd
% ps auxw | grep nfs
