With the tar included with 2.2.X, I get the following errors if I enter :
bastian:/# tar -czf /dev.tar.gz /dev

tar: Removing leading / from absolute path names in the archive.
tar: /dev/wd0s3: minor number too large; not dumped
tar: /dev/rwd0s3: minor number too large; not dumped
tar: /dev/wd0s4: minor number too large; not dumped

etc ...

I think the tar *really should* be upgraded in /usr/bin !

Something like that is really ugly, a unix that can't backup
it's own files ... something like that I only know from M$ ...

What do you mean exactly with "vetted-out" ? I don't know the meaning of
it, sorry, my english isn't good enough ...

To page back. Less(1) has more as it's name ;)
