Subject: /sys/i386/conf/MODULAR = /sys/i386/conf/GENERIC - /modules?

given the kld/modules system
I was wondering why a Modular version of GENERIC
has not come into existance that would basically
consist of GENERIC minus anything available
in /sys/modules [see /boot/defaults/loader.conf]?

presumanly GENERIC should then become STATIC
since everything is statically linked in?

any thoughts?
