HI, I had last days big trouble after an update samba 3.0.22 to 3.0.23c,1. After the update there was noch chance to get the list of builtin groups net groupmap list showed nothing. In the logfiles i found: Sep 11 18:40:58 gateway smbd[92133]: [2006/09/11 18:40:58, 0] auth/auth_util.c:create_builtin_administrators(785) Sep 11 18:40:58 gateway smbd[92133]: create_builtin_administrators: Failed to create Administrators Sep 11 18:40:58 gateway smbd[92133]: [2006/09/11 18:40:58, 0] auth/auth_util.c:create_builtin_users(751) Sep 11 18:40:58 gateway smbd[92133]: create_builtin_users: Failed to create Users I tried it on FreeBSD 6.0 and 6.1 on different hardware. Update or newinstall doesn't matter... The new location of /usr/local/etc/samba i've seen and copied the security files. After various tests and 2 sleepless nights i downgraded back to 3.0.22somthing... Now everything works fine again. May be u should notice this failure and check it. Samba Code broken? regards CAT
