I use the reader on Linux with a similar test code and it works. It 
doesn't need any initialization sequence for working, infact that device 
works under a virtualized FreeBSD (vmware with Windows XP host) with no 
problem, with the same kernel and test code (see a previous messase in 
this thread). How is it possible?
