Hello, At least in FreeBSD 7.1-RELEASE dd(1) doesn't seem to support the USR1 signal. Instead of using the SIGUSR1 signal it supports the SIGINFO signal. For compatibility reasons I would appreciate SIGUSR1 support beside of SIGINFO support. Or is there any reason not to use it? Regards, Sylwester
