Hello Glen and list, A couple of weeks has passed with no news from upstream, and since these things tend to take a bit of time, I believe it would be best to remove references to -r until we actually have code to support it. I've opened up http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=171761: misc/171761: Small patch to (temporarily) remove -r from zfs send usage and zfs(8) with a patch to do just that.
