I have 4.7-RELEASE running on a Quad 5500R in my lab. =20 Had to use the MAXMEM option in the kernel config to get it to recognise = all the RAM, but other than that, it runs sweetly with the inbuilt = peripherals and a SmartArray Controller. =20 Cheers, ________________________________ From: Wilko Bulte [mailto:wkb@freebie.xs4all.nl]=09 Sent: Tue 31/12/2002 9:22 AM=09 To: vizion communication=09 Cc: stable@FreeBSD.ORG=09 Subject: Re: Installation of FreeBSD on Compaq 5500R Quad processor = system=09 =09 On Mon, Dec 30, 2002 at 02:09:03PM -0800, vizion communication wrote: > Hi > > I am making a choice between Linux and FreeBSD for this > system. The system includes the raid. I run FreeBSD on a Proliant 6500 quad Xeon, a DL380 and a 1850 at work. Works OK. Yahoo! runs FreeBSD on a ton of Proliants if I am correctly informed ;) -- | / o / /_ _ =20 |/|/ / / /( (_) Bulte wilko@FreeBSD.org To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
