Here are a couple of really inane questions concerning multi-port NICs that have been burning holes in what's left of my gray matter. The N-port NICs show up as N distinct devices? They just happen to all use the same PCI slot. What are the downsides of using one like the dual port Intel card? Does FreeBSD have support for the Adaptec Quartet four-port card?
