That really is a bug in portmaster -- it should be detecting changes in
dependencies automatically. Then PORTREVISION can be delegated to signaling=
 the
following message: "You should rebuild this port to fix a bug and/or gain n=
ew
functionality".

The automatic bumps like what we are discussing should not be necessary bec=
ause
the automatic tools must take care it themselves.

Portupgrade will preserve the older shared libraries still used by other po=
rts.
