Hi all, I have been running freeBSD 2.16 on a an ISP machine for a while with fairly satisfactory service (does need a rebbot every ten days but then I haven't kept abreast with the hot stuff with all the right fixes). Having used Linux for a year before that to do the same, I can say I would lay my bets on freeBSD any day. It's more stable and easier to configure with hardware varieties that I have tried. Enough of that. My current wish-list includes using a freeBSD driven firewll-cum-proxy server. With two ethernet interfaces - one hooked into the router (single-backbone network), the other going into the dail-up port servers vi the hub. The router does not connect to the hub at all. To keep matters simple this is s single-gateway network. I would like to hear any experiences and/or caveats invoilved from those experienced or knowledgeable on this. Hear from you . Regds. Rama
