__MY $0.02__ I've been running FP extensions on a 2.2.5 machine for almost a year ( I had to do it the hard way, before the port was done ). I did try the port awhile after it came out just to see how it worked. It seemed to do pretty well. I've been running 3.0 on my workstation at work with basically no problems, however as many have said, unless you feel really brave, the 2.2.X branch is the best way to go for production machines. So to sum I suppose my thoughts would be : Install 2.2.7 ( or 2.2.8 when it comes out, which is I believe the end of Nov ) and use the FP ext. port to run the BSDI binary version of FP ext.
