The stuff dealing with Linux compatibility in the Oracle installation instructions has me confused. ftp://ftp.oracle.com/pub/www/otn/linux/README mentions that 5 RPMS must be installed first. I downloaded them and tried to install them as in: cosmo# /compat/linux/bin/rpm -i --ignoreos --root /compat/linux --dbpath /var/lib/rpm compat-binutils-5.2-2.9.1.0.23.1.i386.rpm failed to open /etc/mtab: No such file or directory i believe i have the proper Linux compatibility stuff: cosmo# pkg_info | grep -i linux linux_base-6.1 The base set of packages needed in Linux mode linux_devtools-6.1 Packages needed for doing development in Linux mode I run 4.0-Release. I'm sure I'm missing something basic but I don't know enough linux to figure out what.
