Hi all, I set up in rc.conf named_enable="YES" named_flags="-u bind -g bind" to run named not as root. root@kraxon:/ # ps axw | grep named 23473 ?? Ss 0:00.03 named -u bind -g bind Fine. But when I'm doing a 'named.reload' I get in syslog: Oct 15 09:30:22 kraxon named[82]: reloading nameserver Oct 15 09:30:22 kraxon named[82]: couldn't create pid file '/var/run/named.pid' And after a 'named.restart', named is running as root: root@kraxon:/ # named.restart new pid is 230 root@kraxon:/ # ps axw | grep named 230 ?? Ss 0:00.09 /usr/sbin/named in named.conf I have: controls { unix "/var/run/ndc" perm 0600 owner 53 group 53; }; Any Ideas, how to reload the named? I'm using FreeBSD 4.1.1-R Kind regards, Thomas To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-isp" in the body of the message
