OK, I give up. What changed? After much mucking around I finally got my Opti931 (A Bravo rendition as I recall) to work under 3.4-RELEASE. It seems that the card always gets recognized by default as pcm1, and I had to go into userconfig to change it so it would be seen right. Then, I upgrade to 4.0. Now I can't configure the pnp as I did before in the USERCONFIG/kernel.conf (it gives me a pnp command not found) and there does not seem to be pnp kernel option at all anymore.
