I'm asking here because I need to know what I need, and there's no great urgency. Also, please CC me because I'm not able to subscribe at present. Here in the uk, one has to shop around and change ISP frequently to get cheap, or un-metered dial-up access. Data speed is usually quite good, but services usually poor. It's often possible to retrieve e-mail from a previous 'provider' but relaying is denied for outgoing SMTP. I may gain access to a connection, but no services, temporarily for free. So what I realty need is, I presume, an SMTP server on my Gateway, or will sendmail perform this task somehow. I fear there are large gaps in my knowledge in this area. Links to any tutorial pages would help. I looked at Zmailer, but feel it would get bored with so little to do. This is a one man LAN. :) Also, I'll need a free to use DNS lookup IP number or two. Recommendations? Thank you, John. To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-newbies" in the body of the messagehelp
