I'm asking here because I need to know what I need, and there's no great urgency. Also, please CC me because I'm not able to subscribe at = present. Here in the uk, one has to shop around and change ISP frequently to get cheap, or un-metered dial-up access. Data speed is usually quite good, but services usually poor. It's often possible to retrieve e-mail from a previous 'provider' but relaying is denied for outgoing SMTP. I may gain access to a connection, but no services, temporarily for free. So what I realty need is, I presume, an SMTP server on my Gateway, or = will sendmail perform this task somehow. I fear there are large gaps in my knowledge in this area. Links to any tutorial pages would help. I looked at Zmailer, but feel it would get bored with so little to do. This is a one man LAN. :) Also, I'll need a free to use DNS lookup IP number or two. = Recommendations? Thank you, John.
