I've used several types of 3Com and Xircom models - none of them has any difficulties to use. Just like usual external modem. ;) > ifconfig also doesn't show me an aditional device. ifconfig won't show anything until you set up proper PPP/SLIP(?) connection over serial device such as your modem. Now, there's still some questions: 1st: Does your system recognize your modem as sioN? It should be said in messages like "...card inserted... sioN at..." 2nd: Can you use sioN to which your modem attached? 3rd: Can you communicate with your modem using cu/ecu? -- BR, Kirill Bezzubets CASE-RIPE CASE-RIPN Senior Administrator, Technical Department mailto:kirill@solaris.ru Solaris ISP & Telecommunications Co.
