X Server 4.3.99.15 nearly works. "XFree86 -probe" & "XFree86 -scanpci" now work and detect the video card and suggest the driver properly. However, 'xf86cfg' still locks up the system when it scans for the proper driver. "xf86cfg -textmode" generates a proper 'XF86Config' file but running 'startx' locks up the system. It's strange that "pciconf -lv" sees my Permedia2 & s3 Trio64 V2/DX at pci 0:2:0 (which it is) where as X sees it as pci 1:2:0. -cheers, S.C. Gehl
