Hello,

Webform for some reason doesn't accept safety code, so I'm sending PR
via e-mail:

System is SMP 2xPIII-500 with 512M RAM. Disks are SCSI 4x9G on ahc0:
<Adaptec aic7896/97 Ultra2 SCSI adapter>, recorder is IDE Teac CD-W524E.

uname -a is
FreeBSD nova.in.grsu.by 4.10-RELEASE FreeBSD 4.10-RELEASE #0: Sat Jun 19
18:07:20 EEST 2004 root@nova.in.grsu.by:/usr/src/sys/compile/SMP-8 i386

When recording fairly massive amount of data on CD-recorder, after about
30 to 100 Megs recorded all system activity stops. Consoles can be
switched but do not otherwise respond to keystrokes (no ctrl-alt-del
too), network exchange stops. Console #0 sometimes shows lots of
messages about swap pages, something like them not being where expected
(?) (you see, each time this happened, I had to hard-reset ASAP and
assist autofsck-ing with lots of errors, not copying to paper, sorry no
help from me here.)

Surely happened with 4.9 and 4.10 RELEASEs. Surely did NOT happen with
4.6.2 and 4.7 RELEASEs. Can't remember whether it happened with
4.8-RELEASE or started only in 4.9.

Config of kernel is always the same, adding SMP, IPX,
IPFW2/DUMMY/BRIDGE, device atapicam and HZ=1000, and excluding some
unneeded devices.

I just noticed it first in 4.9 (4.8?), and it's still there in 4.10. In
4.9, it happened each time when trying to record ~>50 meg track. There
seemed to be some improvement in 4.10, two ~100 meg tracks recorded
okay, then wham. Small amounts of data pas okay, but I don't know
whether problem cause is cumulative or not.

For recording, I used cdrtools 1.11a37, 2.0.0.3 and dvdrtools 0.1.5.

regards,
Yury.
