Benjamin,
to me it appears you've mixed arch binaries on your system.
I'm wondering if your issue is still valid if you clean up
your system (with binaries of the same $arch)?
Remember to rebuild ports if you're changing $arch.
Also please clarify if you're seeing system crashes (panic)
or a hanging system.
For a panic, we need a backtrace in the first place, for a 
hanging system I recommend to rebuild kernel using
WITNESS.
