With r225739 the problem seems to have disappeared. % dmesg | grep hdac hdac0: <ATI SB600 High Definition Audio Controller> irq 16 at device 20.2 on pci0 hdac0: HDA Codec #0: Analog Devices AD1981HD hdac0: HDA Codec #1: Lucent/Agere Systems (Unknown) pcm1: <HDA Analog Devices AD1981HD PCM #0 Analog> at cad 0 nid 1 on hdac0 % cat /dev/sndstat FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm: 64bit 2009061500/amd64) Installed devices: pcm1: <HDA Analog Devices AD1981HD PCM #0 Analog> (play/rec) default "cat filename > /dev/dsp" gives some sound. The only thing I cannot get yet is any sound while playing a CD. -- Anton Shterenlikht Room 2.6, Queen's Building Mech Eng Dept Bristol University University Walk, Bristol BS8 1TR, UK Tel: +44 (0)117 331 5944 Fax: +44 (0)117 929 4423
