Subject:   import a pool with a bad vdev config

I have a zpool on a SAN that came from a solaris machine running EMC Powerpath.  When I try to import this, zpool tells me I have an invalid vdev config.  Running a "zdb -l" on the device shows powerpath specific devices.  Any idea how I can alter that enough to get the pool imported?
