The "dongle" works OK (as ue0) as long as it's plugged in (to the Thunderbolt port) when the kernel probes are done -- it's apparently not hot-pluggable. The Intel 8265 wireless works in head, as iwm0; that was committed 09 Oct 2017. The MFC looks (to me) as if it's likely to be a bit complicated (as there was a bit of restructuring of code among files in head), so the set of filenames involved includes some that don't exist in 11 (and earlier). Unfortunately, I'm finding the graphics configuration to be the current challenge: the Precision M4800 had a BIOS option to disable the Intel graphics; once that was done, the Nvidia driver Just Worked. But the Precision 5520 BIOS does not appear to have such an option (which leaves me wondering what the point of selling a laptop with an Nvidia graphics adapter that is apparently not usable might be). I note, too, that as far as I can tell, there is no keyboard shortcut to enter Suspend mode. I suppopse that's one way to avoid the inconsistency in actually entering Suspend mode from the keyboard (which is an issue I've had with the Precision M4800). The 5520 also doesn't appear to have any sort of disk activity light (or a visual indication of whether WiFi is active or not). Peace, david -- David H.
