I haven't had a chance to try every Mac in my office, but did try 3:

MacBookPro6,1
MacPro3,1
MacMini4,1

Same result as my MacPro1,1.  These machines all have EFI64 though, so I guess
EFI32 vs EFI64 is irrelevant.  I am though using my hacked non-EFI DVD in all
cases.  I'll next try a non-hacked DVD on the EFI64 Macs to see if that
works...
