HDDs here for internal and external storage. With the resulting slowness, I
have not been inclined to progress this bug report. 

I might review after I get a faster computer, with an SSD, plus maybe an
external SSD for most of my VirtualBox guests (including Windows). 

In any case, it'll be interesting to review after bug 271146 is fixed (7.0.10
or later); there's a USB aspect.
