Hi, I’m Leonardo Pio Francesco Gallina, a computer engineering student at Politecnico di Torino, currently pursuing a master’s in Embedded Systems. I plan to participate in Google Summer of Code with FreeBSD to gain real-world project experience and make helpful contributions to the project. At the moment, I’m familiar with C, MIPS, and ARM, and I’m taking courses in Computer Architecture and Operating Systems for Embedded Systems. I was thinking of starting by reading the FreeBSD Handbook and writing some basic device drivers to gain practical experience with FreeBSD’s codebase. I’d appreciate any guidance on beginner-friendly projects or areas within FreeBSD that could help me get ready for a GSoC application. Thanks in advance, Leonardo
