How can it be 'working as intended' to recommend using a deprecated port?

Deprecation literally means something is discouraged from being used:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deprecation

But being listed in the document is encouraging it to be used, exactly the
opposite.

At the very least, shouldn't the document have a warning note to say that t=
he
port is deprecated and to be prepared for a migration in the future?
